A galinha da popa com pintas

Rolling around in the dirt, running about in the sunshine and having a bit of a laugh – that’s how Daryna spent her days.

A beautiful, independent hen who refused to keep her feathers white, because the good things in life are meant to be enjoyed and rolling in the mud is one of them!
She would scour the garden in search of the juiciest treats, and if nothing took her fancy, she would move her search inside the house. Sitting on the sofa, she sought comfort, affection and someone to make her feathers shine again, because only then would she enjoy going back to lie between Cigano’s paws and get covered in dust and dirt all over again.
Daryna came and filled Albertina’s home with love and joy on one of the hardest days. That year began with the passing of our very special Tina, and it was during that difficult time that we met this little treasure in black and white.
In the distance there was a fence, and inside it were several chickens. They were shy and kept their distance, but there was one very young one, full of childlike energy, who proved to be a bit of a busybody and ran to the fence to see who was passing by.
And so she joined us, winning over the hearts of those who were already living in Albertina’s garden and of those who came later. She won over everyone who came over for a little party and to be met with that affectionate gaze. And she even won over every camera pointed at her, if there’s one photogenic hen, it’s Daryna.

An icon at the Albertina who is deeply missed and much loved!

… about Daryna. She was a chicken – just a normal one. She ate grain and laid eggs.
Had a unique personality.
Ah..!
It had a stern. With spots.
A spotted stern…
