What becomes of the seeds when they fall to the ground?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Where do they come from and where do they go?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Some are chosen at random and have a clear purpose as soon as they land in a cosy bed of soil. They arrive in a little bag, all together, excitedly chatting about what their new home will be. A large vegetable garden with so many varieties of fruit and vegetables? A small back garden where they\u2019ll share a home with a colourful flowerbed? Or a sunny balcony from which they\u2019ll be able to \u2018chat\u2019 with the flowerbeds of the neighbour opposite?
Others lead a life of chance, they fall onto fertile soil at the right time of year, and from there a small plant springs up, or, at other times, a tree that will provide for future generations.
Whenever these seeds of chance meet, they always have plenty to tell each other. Some came from a picnic that took place nearby, full of fruit whose seeds were left on the ground.
Others land by parachute after a journey through the air, carried by the strong wind from the previous pie. Some come swimming down the river, whilst others have not travelled far; they are the daughters and granddaughters of the trees in that place.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nature is full of ways to help seeds travel; chance ensures they reach fertile soil, and time will tell whether a tiny flower or a thousand-year-old tree will grow from them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
